Vanessa M. Rodriguez, PsyD, LMFT

Dr. Vanessa M. Rodriguez, PsyD, LMFT, is a forensic behavioral health specialist, licensed marriage and family therapist, and professional educator with more than two decades of experience in trauma, domestic violence, forensic behavioral health, court intervention, and professional education.

As Executive Director of Safe Solutions Institute, Dr. Rodriguez provides leadership and oversight for court-certified intervention programs, forensic behavioral health services, professional education, university partnerships, and research initiatives. She is the originator of the VMR Relationship Trauma Model™, an original clinical framework designed to advance the understanding of relationship trauma, identity development, accountability, and psychological restoration.

Dr. Rodriguez serves as a court expert witness, forensic evaluator, clinical supervisor, and consultant. Throughout her career, she has provided training and consultation to courts, probation departments, law enforcement agencies, military organizations, child welfare agencies, behavioral health organizations, and universities throughout California and internationally, advancing evidence-informed practice across multiple disciplines.

From 2023 to 2025, Dr. Rodriguez proudly served as President of the San Diego Domestic Violence Council, where she worked alongside multidisciplinary leaders to strengthen community partnerships, advance domestic violence prevention efforts, and improve coordinated systems of care throughout San Diego County.

She is a frequent keynote speaker and presenter at regional and national conferences on domestic violence, stalking, trauma, vicarious resilience, first responder wellness, and forensic behavioral health. Her leadership and contributions have been recognized by the San Diego Domestic Violence Council, members of the United States Congress, and numerous community organizations for advancing violence prevention, professional education, and forensic behavioral health.

Dr. Rodriguez remains committed to advancing forensic behavioral health through clinical innovation, professional education, multidisciplinary collaboration, and the development of the next generation of behavioral health professionals.
